One benefit of the zone that many employers get the most credit for is the HIRING TAX CREDIT, which can amount to a credit of up to $11,700 for the 1st year an employee was hired. In order for company to get this credit, the employee must be VOUCHERED. This is done through the Imperial Valley Enterprise Zone.

Sometimes employees do not have their supporting documents readily available. The IVEZ may be able to pull up this information for them through the One Stop system in lieu of presenting the documents. If the employee signs the Release of Information document and mails to the IVEZ, the One Stop might be able to verify the following eligibility categories:

Download a copy of the Franchise Tax Board’s Form 3553 to find out!!!! Fill out the form and if it results in a credit, attach it to your California tax return and save money! Your employer doesn’t have to get you vouchered to be eligible to obtain the tax credit! So, even if you don’t qualify for a voucher, you can still claim the credit! click here
